U Collection: Antique Brass Joseph Lidl French Horn Lamp

The antique horn needed a lot of restoration but it now shines bright and makes a handsome giant lamp. The horn was made by the respected company, Josef Lidl, Maehren, Czechoslovakia - LIDl BRNO is engraved on the bell. The company formed in 1892 and made all their instruments by hand. This particular horn is a good quality example as illustrated by the rotary valves.
The antique horn does have signs of use and wear including lots of little dents as shown in the photographs, but none that detract from its appeal.
The horn has been transformed using new solid brass fittings, an E27 lamp/bulb holder, around 2 metres of retro-style twisted mid brown cable, an inline switch and a black plug that exits discreetly from the base. The French polished hardwood base has been specially turned and weights the horn nicely.
