Gooderstone Pines, Breckland, Norfolk
Historic plantings of Scots pines (Pinus sylvestris) strike dynamic boundary lines through the Breckland landscape. The original hedgerows, that created these famous contorted trees, are now mainly defunct leaving the twisted trunks to stand proud against the vast East Anglian sky.
This group of Scots pines can be found in line with a path near Gooderstone, at grid ref. 762030 - they are part of the famous trees in the Cockley Cley area.
More information about this iconic East Anglian feature can be found in the research paper below by Professor Tom Williamson.

Arboretum Colour Block Collection
The Arboretum Colour Block Collection is a unique study of living trees that can be easily found in the Norfolk landscape - locations are listed in the titles. Drawn by multi-award winning artist Jac Scott MRBS this contemporary collection features striking swathes of dense matt colour that can be selected to compliment any interior scheme.
Please choose a colour from a palette of 9 hues
Please note that there is a blank border around the printed area to:
- protect the printed edge
- allow for mounting
To prevent damage, prints are dispatched rolled up in acid-free tissue in a heavy duty cardboard tube.
Technique
Multi-award winning artist Jac Scott, a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors, approaches drawing in a similar vein to that of the traditional building process of creating a sculpture. The rhythm of multiple marks both build and extract until a form evolves from the ground. Her technique is paradoxically quick in hand movement yet slow to build.
What are Giclee Prints?
The drawings are reproduced as giclee prints - a fine art digital printing process combining pigment based inks with high quality archival quality paper to achieve an inkjet print of superior archival quality, light fastness and stability. Utopia's prints are created by specialist fine art printers.
